Kristýna is an Associate in the Insurance and Reinsurance Group advising insurer and policyholder clients on both coverage and defence matters. Kristýna has experience in advising clients on directors and officers, financial institutions, warranty and indemnity, cyber and construction claims. Kristýna also advises on data protection and cyber breach incidents, including providing first response advice to corporate victims of cyber-attacks. 

Kristýna has completed an extended secondment in the claims team of a large Insurer, handling complex claims against financial institutions and fund managers under combined global insurance programmes, directors and offices, crime and civil liability insurance. 

Relevant experience

  • A large healthcare provider in a coverage dispute with its professional liability insurers in proceedings before the High Court and Court of Appeal.
  • D&O insurers of a European Fintech company in respect of claims relating to several regulatory, criminal and civil claims and investigations following the company’s insolvency.
  • Insurers on coverage in respect of a multi-jurisdictional Covid business interruption claim.
  • Insurers on coverage under a buy-side W&I policy in respect of circa 10 separate claims with circa 66 alleged breaches of warranty relating to accounting, regulatory and property / plant and machinery issues arising out of the acquisition of a waste processing plant.
  • D&O insurers of an investment bank on coverage in respect of claims and regulatory investigations into allegations of market manipulation.
  • Insurers in arbitration proceedings relating to insurers’ avoidance of multiple policies due to breaches of fair presentation.
