Laura is Of Counsel in our Construction and Engineering team in London and has nearly 20 years’ experience advising new and long-standing high profile clients, with portfolios exceeding £67 billion, on their substantial construction projects across a range of sectors. Laura drafts and negotiates construction contracts (based on a variety of industry standard forms and bespoke contracts) and security documents, working closely with our Real Estate team in the negotiation of agreements for lease, facility agreements, development agreements and asset protection agreements.

In her role as Of Counsel, Laura performs a unique role across our practice, liaising between partners and associates and streamlining contractual procedures and negotiating positions for our largest clients, driving efficiencies and innovation through the use of legal technology.

Relevant experience

  • The Crown Estate on their diverse regional developments, including their mixed-use regeneration project worth £1.5bn at Cambridge Business Park and the Fosse Shopping Park in Leicester. 
  • Glasgow City Council as administering authority for the Strathclyde Pension Fund (with assets of c£29m) on all construction projects, sales and acquisitions, across a range of sectors.
  • CBRE UK Property PAIF on their construction projects, including their purchase of 2 Cavendish Square, London and related refurbishment projects at the property.
  • M&G Real Estate on a range for forward fundings in relation to the development of student accommodation, hotels, offices and mixed use projects.
  • Hampshire County Council on their purchase of the Halo building in Bristol, offering over £116,000 square foot of office space across seven floors.
  • The Wellcome Trust on their office and student accommodation developments, relating to their South Kensington portfolio and unique Northumberland House property near Trafalgar Square.
