Layla Todd is a Knowledge Counsel for the Insurance and Reinsurance Group. Layla qualified in 2015 and previously specialised in defending claims against solicitors, brokers and directors and officers. She also has experience in advising on policy coverage. 

In her role as a Knowledge Counsel, Layla assists the Insurance and Reinsurance Group with:

  • the preparation of articles (Law-Now);
  • internal training and professional development;
  • complex legal research tasks;
  • management of the firm’s internal knowledge resources;
  • keeping colleagues up to date on recent caselaw, news and trends affecting the insurance and reinsurance market;
  • internal operations; 
  • external/client training;
  • client bulletins and updates; 
  • liaising with external publishers and market organisations/bodies; 
  • updating of the market publication “Insurance Broking Practice and the Law”; 
  • updating ReWord; and   
  • any other ad hoc tasks.

Education

  • 2012 – LPC, College of Law, York.
  • 2009 – LLB, Newcastle University, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
