Lianne is a European and UK Patent Attorney specialising in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Her practice focusses on post-grant opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office, and global patent portfolio management for direct clients. She also has extensive experience in drafting patent applications, as well as assisting in due diligence and freedom to operate advice. Her particular areas of expertise include peptide and antibody-based therapeutics, gene editing technologies such as CRISPR, cell therapies and pharmaceutical formulation technologies.

Lianne’s expertise in the life sciences sector is underpinned by two periods of research within the pharmaceutical industry, postdoctoral research following her PhD, and helping to commercialise academic research through licensing and spin-out formation whilst working at the technology transfer company of one of the UK’s leading universities. This combination of academic, industrial and commercial expertise enables Lianne to deliver insightful, pragmatic advice tailored to the needs of her clients.
