Michael Cavers is joint General Counsel of CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang, based in the London office.
Michael advises on the whole range of risk management, regulatory and compliance issues for the firm. His role includes managing the firm’s partnership and governance affairs and advising on wider legal issues including in respect of the firm’s overseas offices. He is the firm’s Training Principal, the secretary to its Executive Committee and a member of its Management Team.
He was previously a longstanding partner in the firm’s Finance Practice Group, having joined the firm as a trainee in 2002. During his practising career, he advised on a wide range of financial transactions, with a particular focus on debt capital markets, derivatives and structured finance. His client base included investment banks and many of the firm’s corporate clients. He has spent time on secondment to various financial institution clients as well as to the firm’s Budapest office. Michael was an elected member of the firm’s Board for ten years and served as a member of its Audit & Risk, Responsible Business and Investment Committees. He has acted as trustee and, most recently, chair of the Mindful Business Charter charity and is a proud champion of the firm’s DEIB networks and initiatives.
