Neil is an Associate in the dispute resolution team in Edinburgh specialising in real estate disputes. He advises on a variety of contentious property matters including landlord and tenant disputes, dilapidations and rent arrears. He has particular experience in advising clients on the termination of commercial lease agreements.

Before joining the firm, Neil worked on complex debt recovery cases involving both secured and unsecured loans. He has appeared for international lenders in various Sheriff Courts and in the First Tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber). His past experience also includes providing transactional real estate advice to UK supermarkets and retailers.

Relevant experience

  • Secured lenders pursuing the recovery of residential properties through the Sheriff Courts.
  • An international bank on the validity and enforceability of its lending and commercial agreements entered into with a chain restaurant.
  • A large UK supermarket regarding the termination of a portfolio of leases.
