Oliver is a Senior Associate in the Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance team in London.

Specialising in energy and infrastructure, he advises a range of parties including sponsors, borrowers and funders on complex financing transactions, and has comprehensive experience with project and acquisition finance structures in the renewable energy sector.

Relevant experience

Oliver’s relevant experience includes advising:

  • Fidra Energy on the GBP 594m project financing of the 1.4GW Thorpe Marsh BESS project; understood to be the largest battery storage facility in development in the UK at the time of financial close.   
  • Equitix and TEPCO Power Grid on the circa GBP 600m senior debt financing of the Triton Knoll offshore electricity transmission (OFTO) project.
  • Equitix and Kyuden on the senior debt financing of the Seagreen offshore electricity transmission (OFTO) project.
  • CVC DIF on the UK-first circa GBP 500m portfolio project financing of co-located solar and battery storage projects funded by a club of UK and international lenders.
  • Senior lenders including EDC (the Canadian ECA) on a circa EUR 555m portfolio project finance of onshore wind farms in the Nordics developed by Renewable Power Capital, and related equity bridge loan facilities.
  • A club of UK and international lenders in respect of the GBP 345m debt financing of a 609MW portfolio of solar and co-located battery storage projects developed by British Solar Renewables in the UK and Australia.
  • Senior finance parties in respect of a GBP 380m liquidity facility provided to a global leader in the aviation sector and subsequent unwind of the wider project financing package.
  • Senior funders in relation to their provision of finance in connection with the sale and leaseback of an electric multiple unit train fleet for the Baden-Württemberg and Saale–Thuringia-Südharz rail networks in Germany.
  • A consortium comprised of The Renewables Infrastructure Group and Equitix in relation to its agreement to acquire a significant interest in the 1.2GW Hornsea One Offshore Wind Farm.
  • Electricity Supply Board of Ireland on the acquisition of a 50% ownership interest in the 450MW Neart na Gaoithe UK offshore wind farm from EDF Renewables.
