Sam is a Senior Associate in our Infrastructure & Project Finance Group based in the London office. Sam has specialised in projects work since he qualified in September 2008.  Sam has acted on a wide range of projects, advising both public sector (including local authorities and NHS bodies) and private sector clients (including special purpose companies, contractors, service providers and financial institutions).

Sam has substantial experience advising on the procurement of innovative strategic partnering arrangements, of drafting and undertaking due diligence on project documentation and of providing on-going advice to clients in respect of operational projects.

Relevant experience

  • National Grid and SSE on Eastern Green Link 2 project and Eastern Green Link 3 project.
  • Northern Endurance Partnership on the development of the business model for the transport and storage of CO2, including the terms of the Licence, GSP and the Revenue Support Agreement.
  • Encavis AG (formerly Capital Stage AG) on its strategic partnership with Solarcentury.
  • Aviva Investors on a number of Carbon and Energy Fund projects.
  • SSE Contracting Limited in relation to 11 of its street lighting contracts.
  • The project company in relation to New Tyne Crossing.
  • The preferred bidder on the Edinburgh University Student Accommodation project.
  • The preferred bidder in relation to Gloucestershire Waste PFI project.
  • The project company on the £120m Yorkshire batch of the PF2 Priority Schools Building Programme.
  • VPI on procurement and delivery of a carbon capture plant.
  • Equitix on its acquisition of the Nevis Range Hydro Project (including undertaking due diligence and redrafting of EPC and O&M contracts).
