Sarah Collins is a Senior Associate in our residential disputes team.

She specialises in all aspects of residential disputes, with particular expertise in enfranchisement and right to manage claims, residential service charges and disposals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 (tenants’ rights of first refusal).

Prior to joining CMS, Sarah worked at Shoosmiths where she was responsible for all enfranchisement and 1987 Act claims for the firm, having previously worked in a specialist team in London. She has been involved with residential disputes for over 10 years and her expertise and approach resulted in her being awarded Young Professional of the Year at the 2019  Enfranchisement and Right to Manage Awards, and shortlisted for Solicitor of the Year in 2021.

Relevant experience

  • A large housebuilder client on a complex right to manage claim involving a listed development project, defeating the claim to secure the future of the development. 
  • An energy services provider on the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and how the statute could be used to their advantage in negotiations.
  • A developer, on maximising value from a building with planned development works where the tenants had collectively enfranchised.
