Vanessa is a Senior Associate in the Energy & Infrastructure team based in Aberdeen. Vanessa has significant experience advising clients in the energy and oil & gas sector in regulatory, corporate and contractual matters. She has participated in the negotiation and drafting of EPC agreements for oil and gas facilities, as well as other industry related contracts, and has experience in sector related arbitration and dispute resolution. She has also been involved in M&A transactions, corporate restructurings and JOA matters. Before joining CMS, Vanessa worked in Venezuela as a senior associate in the corporate departments of two international firms, and as an associate in the oil & gas team of a firm in Scotland. Vanessa is qualified to practice in England & Wales, and Venezuela. Vanessa has provided advice and training to clients both in English and Spanish.
Vanessa has gained significant in-house experience by completing a long term secondment to TotalEnergies providing support to their North Sea assets and supply chain contract, and more recently to the Northern Endurance Partnership as the legal adviser for their carbon capture projects across Teesside and the Humber.
