Will is an Associate in the Energy & Infrastructure team, specialising in the power and clean energy sectors. Will advises developers, equity and debt investors, utilities (including electricity and gas transmission and distribution licensees), and energy users (including corporate offtakers) on the development, acquisition and financing of renewable and other clean energy projects, as well as a wide range of regulatory, transactional, and commercial matters throughout the sector. 

Will has previously spent time on secondment at Masdar, working on their renewable and low-carbon projects in the UK (in particular their portfolio of UK offshore wind projects). 

Relevant experience

  • A confidential big tech company on corporate PPAs for projects in the EU and the UK. 
  • A confidential big tech company on corporate PPAs for projects in the EU, and on relevant regulatory issues, including the process to transfer and export guarantees of origin.
  • Developers on optimisation and tolling agreements in the EU and UK.
  • Offshore wind developers on their eligibility for CfDs. 
  • An offshore wind developer on the cable transport and installation contracts in relation to a German offshore wind farm.
  • Inch Cape on the step through process in respect of its Crown Estate Lease for the circa 1.1GW Inch Cape offshore wind farm.
  • A developer on a hydrogen project for HAR1 including the relevant offtake agreement. 
  • SSE on the acquisition of a 50% stake in H2NorthEast hydrogen project.
  • Octopus Energy Limited on regulatory issues pertaining to the takeover of Bulb Energy, including on the first of a kind energy transfer scheme.
