Work Experience (CMS Connect)
Your chance to see how the world of law works and take that vital first step towards a career with our future facing firm. A one-week programme designed to show school and college students what is possible, letting you experience how our legal practice works and the role you could play with us in the future.
Law Scholarships
We believe that a career in law should be open to everyone. Since 2012, we’ve helped some of the brightest and best most creative legal minds launch their careers. Benefit from financial support (£2500 per year) during your undergraduate studies, plus mentoring and paid work experience.
Apprenticeships
Qualify as a solicitor through our six-year apprenticeship programme. You will earn while you learn, gaining valuable experience from day one with no university fees to pay. For those with non-law degrees, this year we will be piloting a Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship in England also. Please visit our website for further details.
Insight Programme
If you are interested in a career in law and want to know what life is really like at a future facing global law firm, researching online is one thing. However trying it for yourself is completely different – and that’s the purpose of this programme. Whatever your background, the programme’s blend of practical work experience, skills sessions, trainee shadowing and networking will build your knowledge and contacts.
Successfully complete the two-week programme and you will be fast-tracked to an assessment day for a training contract.
The Training Contract
The route to securing a training contract with us is through an assessment day. Upon successful completion of our assessment day you will be offered a direct training contract plus be enrolled on our award-winning CMS Academy programme.
Typically, you will complete four six-month long seats across a two year period, working across different practice groups. We also provide alternative qualification routes, such as part-time training contracts, which are offered on a case-by-case basis. We understand that everyone’s circumstances are unique and are proud to offer flexible training contracts promoting inclusivity to all.
