CMS has significant experience in drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications in the cyber security field. Examples include encryption techniques used in domestic smart metre technology, ACID transaction technology, multi-party machine learning which is secure against side-channel attacks, applications of block chain technology, distributed identifier technology, secure hardware such as enclaves and more. CMS is familiar with areas where security is generally recognized as a technical problem at the European Patent Office and is able to identify where there is likely to be good scope for patent protection in Europe in this field. CMS is able to obtain security clearance for any cyber security and encryption technologies where clients prefer to first file patent applications outside the UK.
