FCA: FG26/10: Non-Handbook guidance on CRYPTOPRU 7 – overall risk assessment for CRYPTOPRU firms
Further to GC26/5, FCA has published finalised guidance to help cryptoasset firms complete the overall risk assessment required under CRYPTOPRU. It explains how firms should identify risks, run stress tests, plan recovery actions and prepare for wind-down. This guidance will come into force on 25 October 2027. This blog by Jamie Whitehorn reports on FCA’s survey of corporate finance firms with regard to their compliance resources and activities. FCA notes gaps in certain areas, including: arrangements for staff to safely raise concerns, keeping breach registers, monitoring complaints, reporting to management and involving compliance in management meetings. A significant number of firms reported not including regulatory compliance in staff performance assessments.
FCA: CP26/35: Fair redemption terms for authorised funds investing in illiquid assets
FCA is consulting on changes to which would apply to non-UCITS retail scheme funds that are predominantly invested in inherently illiquid assets and offer regular liquidity. FCA proposes to: limit the frequency of dealing days (when the fund manager redeems or cancels investors’ units in the fund); introduce minimum notice periods for redemptions (how long the investor must wait between putting in a request to redeem and the fund manager executing the redemption), and align these minimum redemption terms with the long-term asset fund regime. FCA is also proposing to allow all NURS fund managers to introduce similar limited redemption arrangements if they want to, and to amend some of the related rules and to allow LTAF investors to revoke redemption requests during the notice period if the fund manager is satisfied it would not be unfair to other investors. Responses are required by 11 December 2026.
HMT: India-UK Financial Markets Dialogue – joint statement
HMT has published a note of the UK-India Financial Markets Dialogue which took place on 29 September 2026. Topics include: capital markets; insurance and pensions; regulatory cooperation with regard to asset management and sustainable finance; fintech/innovation.
PRA: CP13/26: Updating regulatory thresholds – an autopilot approach
PRA’s CP proposes a transparent, rules-based framework that would automatically update in-scope regulatory thresholds every five years, with the first automatic update for thresholds under this new framework to take place on 1 July 2031. PRA is also seeking feedback on proposals for a further set of thresholds through a discussion paper section of the CP with regard to certain thresholds that operate across or interact with the PRA/FCA framework relating to remuneration, whistleblowing, and SM&CR. Responses are required by 7 February 2027.
