FCA: Insider dealing case
FCA reports that Matthew and Nikolas West have pleaded guilty to insider dealing, following a prosecution brought by the FCA. Matthew West used confidential, inside, information to deal in shares in four companies and also disclosed inside information to his brother Nikolas West in relation to a fifth company. Nikolas West used this inside information to deal. The total profits from the dealing were £42,948. They will be sentenced on 3 July 2025 at Southwark Crown Court. FCA will also apply for confiscation orders in relation to proceeds of crime.

In this CP, FCA proposes two minor changes intended to reduce reporting burden on firms. This follows a post-implementation review of FCA’s GI value measures rules, first introduced in 2021. Responses are required by 9 October 2026. It is noted that FCA intends to consult on wider changes to the value measures rules in the first half of 2027.
