CMS advises strategy consulting firm Solon on transatlantic merger with US partner Altman Vilandrie & Company

15/07/2020

Munich – CMS has advised Solon Management Consulting and Altman Vilandrie & Company on their merger to form Altman Solon. The merger gives rise to the world’s largest strategy consultancy focusing on telecommunications, media and technology (TMT). The two firms are merging after a decade of close partnership. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Richard Mitterhuber advised Solon on all legal aspects of the merger. As a longstanding client, Solon relies on the expertise of CMS on a regular basis, especially for corporate and employment law matters as well as tax issues.

Patrick Bellenbaum, Partner and Managing Director at Solon and now Managing Partner at Altman Solon, commented: "With the merger of our fast-growing companies, Altman Solon is able to meet our clients' global TMT challenges with knowledge from an even broader pool of experience and expertise."

The global strategy consulting firm created by the merger, Altman Solon, will provide support for leading companies with regard to identifying, developing and implementing corporate strategies and around digital innovation and transactions (M&A). Altman Solon will also assist investors worldwide in the development of investment and growth strategies, with due diligence and when making investment decisions. According to the firm’s own figures, Altman Solon has around 300 employees at its Boston, London, Milan, Munich, New York, Paris, San Francisco and Warsaw offices.
