CMS is proud to have supported Booster Capital on the launch and first closing of Booster Capital I, a private equity fund targeting Central and Eastern Europe.
The fund has already successfully secured commitments from prominent institutional investors and family offices in the region by exceeding EUR 60 Mio already at first closing. Its largest commitment of EUR 30 million comes from the European Union’s NextGenerationEU program, financially backed by the Government of Romania under the Romania Recovery Equity Fund and managed by the European Investment Fund (EIF).
Booster Capital I focuses on providing growth capital to ambitious entrepreneurial teams aiming to build market leaders in the region. The fund also offers partial buy-out solutions for founders exploring succession options. Investments will target SMEs in Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Slovenia, focusing on sectors where the team has demonstrated success, such as IT services, retail/e-commerce, B2B services, consumer goods, value-added manufacturing, and health & wellness.
CMS acted as lead counsel, advising on all legal, corporate and tax aspects of the fund’s launch and first closing.
