The Regional Legislative Decree n.º 5/2022/M was published today in National Official journal (“Diário da República”) approving the increase of the Minimum Monthly Wage in force in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

The Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira decreed the increase of the Minimum Monthly Wage in force in the Region, with the aim of pursuing economic growth allied to improving the living conditions of the population, in general, and of the employees, in particular, as well as fostering productive entrepreneurship, reducing socio-economic inequalities and seeking conditions of social cohesion through humanising policies.
Thus, the Regional Government materialises its commitment to the effective promotion of social justice, the sustainability of economic growth, constituting a qualifying factor in labour relations and the dignification of work itself.
- Amount of the Minimum Monthly Wage
The value of the Minimum Monthly Wage in force in the Autonomous Region of Madeira is EUR 723,00 (seven hundred and twenty-three euros), effective from 1st January 2022.
We recall that for the national continental territory the Minimum Monthly Wage is EUR 705,00 (seven hundred and five euros) and in the Autonomous Region of the Azores is EUR 740,25 (seven hundred and forty euros and twenty-five cents).
