CMS bolsters Abu Dhabi presence with heavyweight partner move

International law firm CMS is enhancing its presence in Abu Dhabi by relocating partner Graham Conlon to its newly established office in the ADGM, thereby bolstering its offering in the region.

Graham is a prominent international M&A partner and advises on high-profile private equity, joint venture and M&A transactions throughout the Middle East, Europe and beyond. Graham’s move will see him bring his extensive cross-border experience and international best practice to the firm’s Abu Dhabi practice and capitalise on the opportunities the market offers.

David Moore, Managing Partner, UAE at CMS, comments: “Graham is an established M&A and private equity specialist and brings a strong international offering that will significantly bolster our practice across the Middle East and allow us to better support local and international clients on inbound and outbound investment opportunities. Graham’s relocation follows our move to the ADGM earlier this year, which both showcases the strength of our offering and our commitment to continue to grow our presence in Abu Dhabi and the Middle East.”

Graham comments: “Deal activity in the Middle East region is robust and - with a significant amount of outbound work - inherently cross-border and international in nature. Many of our clients are Abu-Dhabi based, and hence it is a natural step to invest further in the Emirate. I am really excited about the future opportunities, and I look forward to working with the CMS Abu Dhabi and wider Middle East teams to capitalise on my international experience and unlock further growth opportunities.”

Graham’s relocation follows the appointment of Infrastructure, Construction and Energy (ICE) Disputes partner Damian Watkin, who joined the firm’s Abu Dhabi’s office in September last year.
