Andrea Potz is an attorney-at-law for employment law. She has been a partner at CMS Vienna since 2019 and has been a member of the employment law team since 2010.

Andrea Potz completed her diploma and doctorate studies in law as well as her second studies in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Vienna. During a one-year study visit to Belgium (KU Leuven), she focused primarily on European and procedural law. She also worked as a university assistant at the Institute for Austrian and European Labour and Social Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.


Andrea Potz provides comprehensive advice in all areas of employment law and represents employers before courts and administrative authorities. Her main areas of expertise are personnel management, equal treatment and diversity. In the (tertiary) education sector, especially at universities, she is much sought-after contact for all employment law problems. However, she also advises numerous clients in the pharmaceutical, electrical and electronics industries as well as in the IT sector.

Publications and lectures

Andrea Potz has authored publications on employment law and regularly lectures in this field as a lecturer at the Institute for Austrian and European Employment and Social Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.

Awards and distinctions

Andrea Potz was awarded the Hugo Sinzheimer Prize in 2012 for outstanding academic work in the field of labour law at the University of Frankfurt.
