Stuttgart – The Dürr Group has acquired 75% of the shares in teamtechnik Maschinen und Anlagen GmbH, thereby strengthening its market position in the automation sector. teamtechnik, which is headquartered in Freiberg (Germany), is a leading automation specialist operating primarily in the electric mobility and medical technology areas. The signed purchase agreement is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities. The purchase price was not disclosed.
CMS advised Dürr on legal aspects of the transaction, with Dr Tobias Grau in the lead role.
teamtechnik generated sales of some EUR 155 million in 2019. 25% of the shares in teamtechnik remain with CEO Stefan Roßkopf, who is a member of the founding family. He will manage teamtechnik going forward as a division within the Dürr Group.
The Dürr Group is one of the world’s leading mechanical and plant engineering manufacturers, with strong expertise in automation and digitisation/Industry 4.0. In 2019, it generated sales of around EUR 3.92 billion. The company employs some 16,200 people and has 112 locations across 33 countries. The group operates via three brands, Dürr, Schenck and HOMAG, and five divisions.
