CMS advises Swiss electronics manufacturer Cicor on acquisition of SMT Elektronik

29/04/2022

Frankfurt/Main – The Cicor Group (SIX Swiss Exchange: CICN), which is headquartered in Bronschhofen, Switzerland, has acquired SMT Elektronik GmbH of Dresden. The acquisition will enable Cicor to expand its Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) business in Germany. SMT Elektronik GmbH’s business lines also include the manufacture and sale of risk loggers for monitoring goods and means of transportation with regard to risk situations, especially in the transport, storage and logistics sectors. The transaction completed on 27 April 2022 and was financed through existing credit facilities and the proceeds of a mandatory convertible bond (MCB) issued in January. This is the first time that Cicor has instructed CMS.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Hendrik Hirsch and Maxine Notstain advised the Cicor Group on all legal aspects of the transaction.
