CMS advises SYNQONY on strategic acquisition in the field of digital waste and environmental management
Frankfurt – SYNQONY GmbH, a specialist for digitalisation solutions in the circular economy, has acquired ZEDAL AG and the main business activities of its former parent company InfoTech Gesellschaft für Informations- und Datentechnik mbH. The transaction is another important step in SYNQONY Group's dynamic growth and strengthens its leading market position in the field of digital waste and environmental management solutions.
CMS provided comprehensive legal advice to SYNQONY GmbH in connection with the takeover. The lead partner was Markus Herz, Corporate/M&A, who specialises in private equity.
All acquired activities will be continued by InfoTech Software GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SYNQONY. With the integration of ZEDAL, an established provider of legally compliant solutions for electronic records management (eANV), SYNQONY Group will in future have over 120 employees and support more than 8,000 commercial waste producers, over 700 waste disposal companies and around 100 environmental authorities.
The acquisition strengthens SYNQONY Group's position as a leading platform in the digitalised circular economy and sets new standards in terms of efficiency, transparency and future-proof networking in the industry. With this acquisition, SYNQONY is also paving the way for the electronic notification for cross-border waste shipments, which will be mandatory from 2026, and is thereby offering its customers long-term legal and planning security.
