Arne Schmieke specializes in the areas of e-commerce and IT law. In particular, he advises online platforms and other digital business companies on all legal issues relating to distance selling, consumer protection, GTC and conditions and online competition law. Another focus of his work is EU platform law, in particular the Digital Services Act (DSA). In IT law, he supports medium-sized and large companies in the drafting and negotiation of all types of IT contracts. He also represents clients in and out of court.

In 2021, Arne Schmieke gained in-house experience during a 6-month secondment as part of Airbnb's European legal department. From 2013 to 2018, he was a research assistant at the Chair of Civil Law, European Private Law, Private International Law and Comparative Law of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Christian von Bar at the University of Osnabrück.

In 2019 he started his legal career at CMS and became Counsel in 2024.
