Tilman Rauhut advises companies, creditors and insolvency practitioners in all aspects of insolvency and restructuring law. His practice ranges from crisis prevention and out-of-court transformation of companies to court-ordered insolvency proceedings. Tilman has particular experience in cross-border restructurings and insolvency litigation, often relating to banks, financial service providers and corporate groups. He also supports creditors in resolving non-performing loans and financial instruments in default.

Tilman joined CMS in 2020 and became counsel in 2025. Prior to this, he spent several years researching and lecturing in insolvency and banking law at the University of Mannheim, where he also assisted in the preparation of legal opinions for insolvency practitioners.

  • StaRUG proceedings | Defence against an unfavourable restructuring plan for a German industrial company
  • Dispute regarding proprietary claims of a German settlor in England
  • Restructuring of asset-backed securities for a German noteholder in Australia
