10am Cafe Roma. What a difference the sunshine makes. After the rain, MIPIM is now back to its old self. Packed bars and everyone (now sporting sunglasses) busy with their meetings. I meet James Fennel, planning director at Nathaniel Litchfield and Partners and we duck off the main drag for a catch up. Lots of common ground around our key sectors: retail, Central London, student, PRS. We agree a follow up with our respective teams back in Blighty.
Into the old town now for Landmark Chambers' lunch. Forty (mostly) planning lawyers mull over the state of the world's most complex consenting regime and agree the Government is not making it any simpler. I'm away just after 4pm for the long schlep to my digs, Savills flat at Palm Beach.
At 7.15 pm it's back to the Hotel Martinez for Nabarro's flagship dinner with over hundred guests sat down. A 'strong' evening all round, ending up in the hotel bar until about 1am. Some nice comments about the dinner now being the place to be at MIPIM on the Thursday.
5.15am and I'm dragging my case along Croisettes to the train station reflecting on another productive and eventful MIPIM.
