The oil and gas industry standard contracts developed under the CRINE initiative and now administered by LOGIC are now available on-line through the LOGIC website (www.logic-oil.com). Until now, the contracts have only been available in hard copy. For those unfamiliar with the UK industry, CRINE stands for Cost Reduction in the New Era and LOGIC for Leading Oil and Gas Industry Competitiveness - both originally government/ industry collaborations to improve the competitiveness and extend the life of the UK offshore oil and gas industry, although LOGIC is now operating on a commercial basis.
The range of contract forms comprises eleven standards:
- Purchase Order Terms and Conditions
- Construction
- Design
- Onshore Services
- Offshore Services
- Well Services
- Mobile Drilling Rigs
- Marine Construction
- Supply of Major Items of Plant and Equipment
- General Conditions of Contract for SME Services
- General Conditions of Subcontract for SME Services
The Contracts and Procurement Sub-Committee of the UKOOA (UK Offshore Operators Association) is now in the process of revising the standards. The Well Services form was the first to be revised and Edition 2 of that was issued in mid- 2001. The Construction model is now in an advanced state of revision and work has recently started on reviews of the models for Design, Onshore Services, Offshore Services and Marine Construction. The Mobile Drilling Rigs standard is also under review - comments have been submitted recently by IADC (International Association of Drilling Contractors) members.
