Clare Thomas, a Real Estate partner at international law firm CMS, has been appointed to the position of national Chair of the Investment Property Forum (IPF), building on her previous role as Vice Chair. Clare will also continue to serve as Treasurer.
The IPF is an individual membership organisation for professionals operating in UK commercial real estate investment. With around 1,800 members, including fund managers, bankers, investment agents, researchers, lawyers, academics, actuaries, and other industry experts, the IPF is dedicated to enhancing the understanding and efficiency of property as an investment.
Clare comments: “I am honoured to step into the role of national Chair at the IPF and build upon the progress made by Stafford Lancaster and Chairs before him. My focus will be on driving forward our mission to enhance the understanding and efficiency of property investment and to propel the organisation forward amid a challenging period for the sector. Collaborating with our diverse and dedicated leadership team, I am excited to contribute to the continued growth and evolution of the IPF and to work with members to address the emerging challenges and opportunities within the industry."
In her role as partner at CMS, Clare brings extensive experience in advising property companies, funds, institutions, and investors on acquisitions, disposals, lettings, and developments. She has a particular focus on working with Asian investors and her transactional expertise covers a diverse range of sectors, including office, residential, student accommodation, hotel, and retail. Additionally, Clare leads CMS’s annual thought leadership research report and is a frequent speaker at industry events. She also serves as a Trustee and Chair of the Estates Committee at Benenden School.
