CMS advises equIP member Crowdicity on strategic sale to Medallia

29 October 2019

International law firm CMS is delighted to have advised longstanding client and equIP member Crowdicity on its sale to Medallia, a global leader in experience management.

Founded in 2012, Crowdicity is a leader in innovation and idea management software. By crowdsourcing and propelling the best employee and customer ideas, Crowdicity helps companies use real-time ideation and collaboration to surface, develop and evaluate potential improvements to customer and employee experiences.

Rob Wilmot, founder and CEO of Crowdicity said: “Our mission to help organisations innovate by tapping into the ideas and knowledge of their people will take a huge step forward. By joining with Medallia, we will have the opportunity to align and achieve our collective goals faster and more effectively around the globe.”

He adds: “We’d like to thank CMS for helping us to achieve this milestone. Anthony and his team were instrumental in steering us through to a successful close, working tirelessly to meet the challenging deadlines faced throughout the deal.

“Being part of the CMS equIP programme has been critical to Crowdicity's development. CMS has been alongside us throughout our journey, supporting us through the early years of the business right up until this successful exit. Having the support and insight of talented lawyers across the CMS platform, as well as access to equIP’s wide peer network has been invaluable and really gave us the confidence and tools to succeed.”

The CMS team was led by Corporate Partner Anthony Waller, supported by Senior Associate Elliot Cowan, Associate Bogdan Buta and Trainee Solicitor Selin Salih. Waller comments: “Crowdicity has grown significantly over the past few years, as companies realise the benefits of harnessing the ideas and creativity of their people to discover new perspectives, insights and opportunities. It’s been a pleasure working with Crowdicity and we look forward to watching them prosper as part of the Medallia family."
