CMS has advised French high-tech company Exosens on the acquisition of Centronic, a UK-based company specialising in radiation detectors and devices.

Exosens is the European leader in high-end electro-optical technologies for defence and industrial applications, with over 85 years of experience in the development, manufacturing and sales of detection and imaging technologies. This strategic acquisition will enable the combined group to provide high-end detectors for the nuclear market and Business-to-Business customers, by leveraging the advanced technological capabilities of the two companies.

CMS Corporate Partner Elliot Cowan comments: “We’ve thoroughly enjoyed advising Exosens on its acquisition of Centronic, a specialist in radiation detectors and devices. It’s a great result for all concerned and a ringing endorsement for this high-end UK manufacturer, with strong links to the defence sector.”

Xavier Robert, M&A Director at Exosens, adds: “It’s been great working with CMS on this acquisition. From start to finish they expertly advised us, always being commercial in their approach and consistently proposing practical solutions to challenges faced.”

The CMS team was led by Elliot Cowan, and included Ahmed Gmati, Michael Cattell and Raghav Vohora (Corporate); Russell Hoare and Emma Waterhouse (Competition); and Philip Reid and Johanna Dodgson (Tax).
