CMS advises ITV Studios on the acquisition of a majority stake in the renowned Spanish scripted production company Plano a Plano
CMS has advised longstanding client ITV Studios on the acquisition of a majority stake in the leading Spanish scripted production company Plano a Plano, known for the hit series Valeria, based on the novels by Elísabet Benavent and ranked in Netflix’s Top 5 most-viewed international dramas globally, El Principe for Mediaset which has sold to more than 60 international markets and the daily telenovela Servir Y Proteger for TVE.
ITV Studios is a creator, producer and distributor of world-leading programmes and is part of ITV PLC, which includes the UK’s largest commercial broadcaster ITV and the ad-funded, free streaming home for ITV, ITVX.
The acquisition is a further milestone in ITV’s strategy of expanding its international content business, with Plano a Plano becoming the latest in a line of production companies to join the group in recent years.

CMS is a leading adviser on high-profile transactions in the media sector and this transaction is the third production company acquisition CMS has advised on recently on behalf of ITV Studios, having supported ITV Studios on the recent acquisitions of Moonage Pictures and Hartswood Films.
