CMS bolsters Energy sector offering with London partner appointment
CMS is pleased to announce the appointment of Rowena van de Grampel as a partner in the Energy Project Finance team, based in London. Rowena’s appointment further strengthens the firm’s market-leading Energy sector offering.
Rowena is known for her work on and deep experience of large-scale, complex, and often first-of-a-kind project financings. Her practice centres on energy transition and infrastructure project finance in the UK, the rest of Europe and the wider EMEA regions encompassing decarbonisation, clean energy projects and cross-border electricity interconnectors.
Munir Hassan, Head of the CMS Energy & Climate Change Group, comments: “Rowena is widely recognised in energy project financing and further strengthens CMS’ already strong position and offering in the sector. Rowena shares our commitment to delivering deep sector specialist advice to our clients, with a focus on top-tier mandates on the most complex and ground-breaking matters.”
Gordon Hay, CMS Partner and Co-Head of UK Banking Group, comments: “The appointment of Rowena strengthens our market leading energy practice and demonstrates significant investment in our energy finance practice. Joining an already outstanding team, Rowena brings expertise that will enhance our capabilities and broaden the depth of our offering.”
Rowena adds: “I’m delighted to join CMS and keen to leverage my practice and twenty years’ of experience off the firm’s immense reputation in the energy sector. With the expansion in scale and diversity of projects, the need to bring debt efficiently into the sector and from a more diverse range of sources has never been more urgent. This is my focus and I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues, and the borrowers, lenders and advisers in the market, to help to finance the next wave of energy projects.”
