Gordon is head of Banking & Finance in Scotland. The CMS Banking and Finance Team is the largest in Scotland and has been top ranked by both Chambers and Legal 500 for a number of years.

Gordon has a been a partner for over 10 years and acts for banks and borrowers in relation to energy finance, real estate finance and general corporate lending. Gordon spent time on secondment at the Bank of Scotland’s Energy team and has a particular interest in all aspects of energy financing.

  • HSBC plc in the provision of around £40m of facilities to one of Scotland’s largest private companies based in Scotland and operating internationally.
  • Clydesdale Bank plc in relation to a number of onshore wind and solar financing transactions.
  • HSBC plc in the £40m refinancing of a Scottish retail company.
  • An Aberdeen based upstream oil and gas company in relation to its £190,000,000 borrowing base revolving credit facility made available by a banking syndicate;
  • Santander plc in relation to the project financing of a large onshore English windfarm.
