CMS is pleased to announce the appointment of Prash Mehta as a partner in its Technology team, based in London. Prash joins the firm on 5 October 2026 from Amazon, where he was EMEA Legal Lead Compliance Lawyer at Amazon Leo, supporting the planned rollout of Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network across the region.

Bringing 16 years of in-house experience across the technology, media and telecommunications sectors, Prash has advised on a broad range of telecommunications, digital infrastructure, technology and regulatory matters in both legal and operational leadership roles. Before joining Amazon, Prash spent seven years at BT and has also previously held roles at EY, the BBC and BBC Studios.

Prash advises on space and satellite law, satellite communication, telecommunications regulation, technology, compliance and public policy. His experience covers areas including spectrum and country access, cybersecurity, data protection, lawful interception, commercial agreements and crisis management.

Ian Stevens, Partner in CMS’s Technology and Sourcing team, comments: “Prash brings an exceptional combination of sector knowledge, regulatory expertise and operational experience gained at the forefront of one of the most ambitious satellite communications projects in development today. Satellite connectivity is developing rapidly and creating new legal and commercial challenges for operators, investors and governments. Prash’s arrival significantly strengthens our ability to support clients as this industry evolves.”

Dóra Petrányi, CMS Global Technology, Media, IP and Competition Practice Group Leader, adds: “Prash’s appointment reflects our continued investment in areas where technological change and regulation are reshaping global markets. His experience in space, telecommunications and digital infrastructure complements our capabilities across multiple practices and jurisdictions. We are delighted to welcome him to CMS.”

Prash Mehta comments: “Having worked with CMS for several years, I have seen first-hand the quality of its people and their collaborative, commercially focused approach. The space and satellite sector is entering an important stage of development, creating growing demand for advice that brings together telecoms regulatory and compliance, technology and commercial expertise. I look forward to helping clients navigate these opportunities both in the UK and internationally.”

Prash’s hire follows the appointment of John Buyers, who joined the firm’s Technology, Media & Communications practice in August 2026. John brings over thirty years of experience in information technology law advising on large-scale domestic and international technology transactions. His practice focuses on advising clients on digital transformation and digital regulation, with a particular emphasis on AI and machine learning.

In August 2026, CMS also welcomed Aniko Adam in its Competition team in London, further strengthening the firm’s competition and regulatory offering. Aniko has more than 15 years of experience advising on UK and EU competition law, with expertise in digital markets regulation, technology antitrust and merger control.
