Aniko Adam is a partner in the Antitrust, Competition and Trade Team, based in London.  Aniko has more than 15 years of experience advising on UK and EU competition law, with expertise in digital markets regulation, technology antitrust and merger control. She advises clients on complex M&A transactions, behavioural investigations, competition compliance, consumer protection matters, and foreign investment and national security reviews. Aniko has extensive experience advising on the UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and the EU Digital Markets Act. Her sector experience spans technology and digital markets, insurance, financial services, infrastructure, media, and consumer goods and retail.

Aniko has completed secondments to the Court of Justice of the European Union, as well as technology and telecoms companies, giving her valuable institutional and in-house perspectives. She is recognised as a Key Lawyer by The Legal 500 UK in the EU and Competition category.

  • Ardian on its £3.26 billion acquisition of an initial stake and subsequent further investment in London Heathrow Airport.
  • Clayton, Dubilier & Rice on its £9.7 billion public to private takeover bid for Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc.
  • Hitachi Rail on the UK merger control aspects of its acquisition of Thales' Ground Transportation Systems business.
  • Tech companies on defending investigations and on complaints under the UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and the EU Digital Markets Act.
  • A tech company in relation to the European Commission’s abuse of dominance investigation under Article 102 TFEU.
  • An ad tech company in relation to market studies relating to digital advertising in the UK, Italy, Germany and Spain.
  • A cloud gaming company in respect of the CMA market investigation into mobile browsers and cloud gaming.
  • A streaming service in relation to the CMA’s inquiry into hidden ads under the CMA’s consumer powers.
