CMS opens new office in Oman, strengthening Middle East capability

10/03/2014

CMS today announced the opening of a new office in Muscat, Oman, further consolidating its presence in the Middle East market. The office will initially focus on serving its energy, projects and financial institutions clients. With this move, CMS adds a further office to its presence in the Middle East, following its launch in Dubai in September 2012.

Senior Partner and Head of Energy, Penelope Warne, comments: “We are a growing global law firm with 57 offices and I am delighted we are opening a new office in Muscat . Energy law is a very significant part of our business and being on the ground in Oman means we can provide a better service for our clients.”

The extended team in Dubai and Oman will work together as one, being led by partners, Stephen Millar, Matthew Culver, Ben Ewing and Amur Al Rashdi.

Stephen Millar, Practice Group Manager for Energy, Projects & Construction, CMS, comments: “The energy, projects and financial services sectors are growing in Oman and throughout the Middle East. They are strategically important areas for our clients and priority sectors for CMS. Our strategy is to be where our clients need us to be, and a presence in Oman complements our global offering.”

The launch of the Muscat office follows a year of expansion for the firm, with office openings in the up and coming ‘Mint’ countries of Turkiye and Mexico, and in Geneva.
