CMS has been recognised in two categories at The Lawyer Awards 2026, held on 16 June 2026 in London. The Lawyer Awards ceremony is a prestigious event celebrating legal excellence in the UK, honouring lawyers and firms across a range of diverse categories.

The firm was highly commended in the Real Estate category for its work advising European logistics specialist NW1 Partners on the launch of a new European Industrial Outdoor Storage (IOS) fund and management platform in partnership with URBZ Capital and CBRE Investment Management. CMS has supported NW1 Partners throughout its IOS growth journey, advising on its first logistics fund in 2022, followed by a further IOS fund in 2023, and most recently on the launch of its latest platform and fund structure.

Commenting on the recognition, Will Lawrence, Partner at CMS, said: “We’re delighted to have been highly commended at The Lawyer Awards, which is a strong recognition of the depth, quality and collaborative approach of our Real Estate team. Our work with NW1 Partners is a good example of the complex, cross-practice mandates the team supports, bringing together real estate, funds and corporate expertise to help clients deliver strategic growth. This recognition is a testament to the commitment and hard work of everyone involved.”

CMS was also commended in the Growth Capital category for its work advising Beckley Psytech on its acquisition by atai Life Sciences, a global leader in developing rapid-acting psychedelic treatments for mental health conditions. The transaction resulted in the creation of AtaiBeckley, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on advancing innovative mental health therapies.

John Finnemore, Partner at CMS, adds: “The Growth Capital commendation recognises the team’s ability to support ambitious businesses and investors at important moments in their development. Transactions such as Beckley Psytech’s acquisition by atai Life Sciences demonstrate the kind of complex, fast-moving work we are advising on, particularly where innovation, sector expertise and strategic execution are all critical. We are very pleased to see that work acknowledged.”
