CMS was named Law Firm of the Year at the prestigious 2018 British Legal Awards, held on 29 November in London. The firm saw off strong competition from a line-up of firms including Clifford Chance, DLA Piper and Eversheds Sutherland to secure the win. It comes 18 months after the firm’s groundbreaking tripartite merger, which saw the firm catapult to 5th position in the world.
The British Legal Awards celebrate outstanding performances by law firms, legal teams and individuals over the past year. Hosted by Legal Week, in association with The City of London Law Society, the glittering awards ceremony is attended by 1,000 lawyers, representing the cream of the UK's legal community.
The firm was also awarded Best Use of Technology, alongside Addleshaws and Sainsbury’s, for its collaborative role in developing an innovative legal portal for Sainsbury’s.
