Alex is an Associate in the Litigation & Arbitration team at CMS with a focus on the technology, media, gambling and sports sectors. Alex has experience working on a broad range of matters including claims for breach of contract, fraud, breach of confidence and injunctive relief.

She has experience advising global companies and digital businesses on complex legal, governance and regulatory challenges, including in relation to consumer protection, reputation management, data protection and anti-money laundering and gambling-related harm.

Relevant experience

  • A public company in a complex fraud dispute, with a number of parallel proceedings in other jurisdictions, which included obtaining injunctive relief. 
  • A high-profile litigation concerning sports data rights and the commercial exploitation of betting and sports data, including claims for breach of confidence and unlawful means conspiracy.
  • Various clients on a range of technology-related disputes, including a global business in a software licensing dispute and a number of clients on disputes relating to IT project delays. 
  • A major UK commercial broadcaster providing reputation management advice in relation to media, regulatory and parliamentary scrutiny.
  • A football club on sponsorship by a non-UK gambling operator, including managing risk under the Gambling Act and Proceeds of Crime Act. 
  • Multiple gambling operators in relation to anti-money laundering and gambling related harms, and assisting clients with investigations by the UK Gambling Commission. 
  • Various clients in a range of contentious media and information matters, including reputation management and defamation, privacy, data protection, and confidentiality claims.
