Amir Aslam is an associate in the Infrastructure, Construction and Energy Department, specialising in construction disputes. He provides strategic and practical advice to clients across the construction industry, including developers and main contractors. Amir’s recent notable experience includes acting on a high value £30m claim, advising on a complex dispute concerning fire safety defects in the original construction of buildings and other matters advising on issues arising under the Building Safety Act. 

Amir joined the CMS construction disputes team in 2023.

  • A developer in disputes over fire safety defects in both the external and internal fabric of a building, including a matter where an active fire destroyed the property.
  • On defective construction of a large football stadium.
  • A developer client in relation to a portfolio of properties and issues arising under the Building Safety Act.
  • A developer in relation to defective construction of a large parking area requiring extensive and disruptive remediation.
  • A contractor on resisting enforcement of an adjudication.
  • On defective construction of a warehouse flooring slab.
