Beren is a Senior Associate in the Power Projects team, advising developers, owners, operators and funders in the energy sector on a variety of energy project transactions and regulatory matters.

Her experience includes negotiating PPAs, supply agreements, O&M agreements, grid connection arrangements and concession agreements, as well as providing regulatory advice on matters such as electricity and gas licencing and exemptions. She has a particular focus on offshore wind and OFTO transactions, whilst also having experience in solar, battery storage, district heating, hydrogen and energy from waste.

Relevant experience

  • Diamond Transmission Partners on its acquisition of the offshore transmission assets of the Race Bank, Galloper, Walney Extension, Hornsea One and Hornsea Two offshore wind farms.
  • Centrica in relation to a number of PPA agreements for its generation assets, including bespoke tripartite arrangements with Vodafone as corporate offtaker and British Gas Trading as sleeving intermediary.
  • E.ON in relation to the Kidbrooke Village, Marine Wharf, Clarendon Way, Wimbledon and Wembley district heating schemes.
  • Gronn Kontakt (a Statkraft group company) in relation to framework arrangements with EV charge point supplier Joju for the funding, supply, installation, operation and maintenance of EV charging appoints as part of a wider partnership with local council authorities.
  • Go Ahead Group in relation to hydrogen supply arrangements with Air Products for hydrogen supply to its bus depot, including arrangements for the installation and operation of a fueling station at the depot.
