Carol Nisbet is Managing Partner of CMS Aberdeen and a Partner within the real estate team with over 20 years’ experience in the sector.

Carol is commercial and deal driven with experience on a wide range of real estate transactions, including investment work, commercial leasing, development projects and secured lending.   Carol is a trusted advisor to clients with real estate interests across multiple sectors, from major institutional investment funds to global corporates.

Carol has particular expertise in the corporate occupier sector, representing major corporations in leasing, acquisition, development, and asset management needs.  With extensive experience in the energy sector, Carol also supports both traditional oil and gas companies in energy transition and advises renewable energy developers, investors and funders on wind, solar, and battery storage developments.

Relevant experience

  • Knight Frank Investment Management – acted in the £100m investment acquisition of The Leonardo Innovation Hub at Crewe Toll, Edinburgh for South Korean investors.   
  • Opportunity North East – acted on behalf of Opportunity North East in the acquisition and development of a £50m Bio-therapeutics hub in Aberdeen. 
  • Bank of London and Middle East – acted on behalf of Bank of London and The Middle East plc on the £27m acquisition of the Scottish Gas headquarters at Waterfront Avenue in Edinburgh.
  • Transocean Drilling UK Limited – advised Transocean Drilling UK Limited in connection with the lease of their 76,000 sq. ft. Aberdeen office headquarters to TAQA Bratani Limited.  
  • Lloyds Register - acted on behalf Lloyds Register in connection with the lease for their 100,000 sq. ft. office development at Prime Four Business Park in Aberdeen and on their various subsequent sub-lettings and on-going asset management work.  Also advising on their lease of headquarters at Skypark in Glasgow.
  • Aberdeen Standard Life:  advising in relation to their 100,000 square feet Scottish headquarters at 6-8 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh as well as in relation to their development at Exchange Crescent, Conference Square, Edinburgh.
  • WeWork: acting on behalf of WeWork in relation to all Scottish real estate transactions including the development and lease of their landmark offices at 80 George Street, Edinburgh.
