Claire is an associate in the Antitrust, Competition and Trade Team in London. She advises clients on a variety of competition and regulatory matters. Her competition experience includes advising on EU and UK merger control aspects of transactions, Article 101/Chapter I and Article 102/Chapter II investigations, competition litigation, and competition law risk management and compliance training. Claire also has particular expertise advising clients on the implications of EU and UK telecoms regulation, on the application of the UK foreign investment control regime, and advising clients in the automotive and technology sectors. 

Claire joined CMS in February 2022, having trained at a specialist technology, media and telecoms firm.

  • Jaguar Land Rover in relation to parallel European Commission and CMA investigations into end-of-life vehicles.
  • NEO Energy in relation to the proposed merger of its offshore energy operations in the UK North Sea in a joint venture with Repsol. 
  • Porsche on an ongoing claim for alleged abuse of dominance and breach of the Chapter 1 prohibition in relation to its selective distribution system.
  • A global technology company in relation to a standalone claim for alleged abuse of dominance and breach of Article 101/the Chapter 1 prohibition.
  • Media Concierge in relation to its recommended takeover of National World.
  • An investor in relation to UK telecoms regulatory obligations and code powers.
  • BT on its agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. to form a 50:50 joint venture to create a new sports offering for the UK and Ireland.

  • A UK Government Agency in relation to telecoms regulation and its impact on network rollout.   
  • A specialist software company in relation to a CMA Phase 2 merger review and subsequent appeal in the Competition Appeal Tribunal and application for permission to appeal in the Court of Appeal.
