Craig is a Partner in the Corporate team specialising in energy acquisition, disposals, joint ventures and reorganisations. A significant amount of this work has been in the clean energy sector and he has advised on numerous transactions and projects in respect of onshore wind, solar and battery storage. Additionally, Craig has advised on significant oil and gas transactions and on the acquisition and disposal of energy service companies in respect of both oil and gas and renewables. Craig is part of the CMS Energy and Climate Change practice and has for several years been recognised by the Legal 500 as a Rising Star for Corporate and Commercial: Elsewhere In Scotland.

  • Neo Energy on the $1B (plus) acquisitions of the UK oil and gas assets of Exxon Mobil and JX Nippon and completion of the acquisition of a package of UK North Sea oil and gas fields from Total.
  • Expro on the $210m acquisition of oil and gas service company Coretrax.
  • ConocoPhillips on the $2.7b sale of its UK E&P business to Chrysaor.
  • Vattenfall on the £320m sale of South Kyle Wind Farm, a consented onshore wind farm located in Scotland consisting of 50 wind turbines and associated infrastructure with 240MW capacity, to Greencoat.
  • MOL on the sale of its entire UK E&P portfolio to Waldorf.
  • The shareholders of Guardian Global Technologies on the sale of the oil and gas service company to Core Laboratories.
  • Buckthorn Partners on the acquisition of oil and gas service company Coretrax.

  • Vantage RE on the acquisition of a 118MW portfolio of right to build windfarms in Scotland from EDF.
  • Alpha Real Capital on the acquisition of (i) two Myreton SPVs, the owners of combined 22.9MW wind farms located in Scotland (ii) Wilson Renewables LLP, the owner of a 14.3MW wind farm located in Scotland (iii) Bryn Blaen Wind Farm Limited, the owner of a 14.1MW wind farm located in the UK (iv) Cumbria Wind Limited, Argestes Wind Limited and Aeolus Wind Limited which own and operate two wind farms in Cumbria with a combined 14 turbines and 9.24MW capacity.
  • Green Cat Renewable Developments Limited and Prelec Limited on the sale of Bradley Wind Energy Limited, the owner of a 7MW wind farm located in Scotland.
  • Elm Solar Holdings on the acquisition of a portfolio of nine solar farms located in the UK with a combined capacity of 47.6MW from Blue Elephant Energy.
  • Elm Solar Holdings on the acquisition of Stark Solar Limited, the owner of solar farms with 38MW capacity located in the UK.
  • Elm Solar Holdings on the acquisition of Coleford Energy Limited, the owner of a solar farm located in the UK with a capacity of 6.9MW.
  • Octopus Investments on the disposal of seven companies owning solar farms with a combined capacity of 9.5MW located in Europe.
  • Gigabox Developments on the sale of two SPVs which own the right to construct 49.9MW battery storage facilities located at Lunanhead and Glendevon, Scotland.
