Daniel Saul is an associate in the Insurance and Reinsurance Group based in our Sheffield office specialising in litigation costs within the Health Claims Team. Daniel has worked at CMS since 2012 and has worked defending industrial disease claims for a government client. In the course of this work he developed a specialism in litigation costs many years’ experience in this specific niche. 

Daniel also regularly represents a range of clients on costs matters of multi-million pound valuation both recovering costs for his client and opposing costs sought by opponents. This work is often multi-party and occasionally across several jurisdictions. Clients include insurers, international banks and government departments. Daniel is experienced in handling the day to day conduct of matters directly for clients or providing one-off advice on specific matters to colleagues across the firm and within differing practice groups.

  • Government client on over 700 transactional matters.
  • Bank client in relation to a matter worth over £1.5m.
  • Six individual/corporate clients on a single matter worth over £2.6m.

  • 2019 – Chartered Legal Executive - CILEX.
  • 2010 – Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, University of Sheffield, Sheffield.
