Dan is a Senior Associate in the Real Estate department, and has over a decade of legal experience. He is based in our Liverpool office, and has particular expertise within the retail and pub sectors. 

Dan predominately acts for a large publicly listed REIT and has extensive experience acting on the management of multi-let assets, dealing with complex agreements and leases. Dan has a close working relationship with clients, and seeks to use innovative technology to improve processes and experiences for them. Dan also has experience of acting for major occupier clients, particularly for those taking space in the warehouse sector, as well as experience of property acquisitions (and related financing) and disposals for private sector clients.

Dan is a board member of a local charity that works with homeless people, and completes pro-bono work for them and another local charity.

  • NewRiver REIT plc on its sale of the entire issued share capital of Hawthorn Leisure REIT Limited (Hawthorn), the UK's leading community and wet‐led pub business, to AT Brady Bidco Limited (Admiral Taverns) for GBP 222.3m.
  • NewRiver REIT plc: providing commercially focused advice on leasing events, acquisitions and disposals across their extensive retail portfolio, and, prior to their sale, in respect of their portfolio of over 660 community pubs (of which Dan lead the day-to-day management).
  • Private companies on financed property transactions, completing due diligence, reporting on title and leases, preparing certificates of title and dealing with satisfaction of conditions precedent.
  • A major US retailer on a pre-let of a 1,200,000 square foot warehouse.
  • A major Swedish drink-manufacturing company, on the real estate, planning and construction aspects for its first UK factory, which is set to become the world’s biggest plant-based facility. This was a great example of successful collaboration between CMS teams to service a new client.
