Acting as Senior Knowledge Counsel on Scottish real estate matters, Elaine provides technical legal expertise to the team helping them reach pragmatic commercial solutions in complex transactions. She provides internal legal training and updates for the Real Estate team, while supporting them to offer bespoke training and resources for clients. Elaine leads the Scottish Real Estate team’s engagement with industry bodies, such as Registers of Scotland and the Scottish law Commission, in relation to practical issues facing our clients and on future reform to the law in this area. Before taking on the role of professional support lawyer, Elaine practised as a real estate lawyer, working for commercial developers, investors and funders, for over 10 years.
