Gael is an associate in the CMS planning team in London, having qualified in 2017. 

Gael has vast experience across a range of both contentious and non-contentious planning matters. She has particular expertise in town and country planning, completing complex s106 and s278 agreements, advising on planning appeals, providing planning advice on acquisitions and disposals and planning application reviews.  

Relevant experience

  • Guild Living (an entity of Legal and General Later Living Limited) on a development comprising of care accommodation with associated communal facilities in Walton, Epsom and Bath at planning application and public inquiry stage. 
  • Motcomb Estates (Wellington Pub Co.) at public inquiry focusing on heritage and residential matters. 
  • Quintain and obtaining the grant of planning permission for 458 private rented sector units as part of the redevelopment of Wembley Park. Advising Quintain on an application for 680 units made up of different tenures including 2 private tenures and 6 affordable tenures also within Wembley Park, London.
  • Threadneedle on the acquisition of land at East Midlands, Manchester and Stansted Airports. 
  • Landsec on a complex urban, mixed-use regeneration scheme (including a 418-unit student accommodation scheme) in Birmingham.
  • Various clients on Corporate and Real Estate acquisitions and sales, ranging from retail and industrial parks, large office buildings to potential development sites with and without planning permission.
  • A bidder on the acquisition of a 20% indirect interest in the East Anglia One Offshore Wind Farm.
  • A bidder for the Offshore Wind Leasing Round 4
  • Heathrow West, part of the Arora Group, on their proposed DCO application for a new terminal building to form part of the new runway development at Heathrow;
  • Provided strategical planning advice to SSE Renewables on the commencement of onshore works in relation to the Dogger Bank A and B Offshore Wind Farm.
  • An investment client on the provision of consenting advice on the DCO, planning permissions and operational consents required for a 99.9MW pumped storage hydro electricity generation station in Wales.
  • Provided strategical planning advice to ConocoPhilips in relation to the decommissioning of Theedlethorpe Gas Terminal.
