Gemma Shearer is Of Counsel in the Corporate Transactions group based in the CMS Glasgow office. Gemma has a corporate and commercial background with particular focus on M&A (public and private) within the energy sector.
Prior to joining CMS, Gemma spent approximately eight years working as Head of Legal at Smart Metering Systems Limited (formerly Smart Metering Systems PLC), a fully integrated energy infrastructure company which owns, installs and manages carbon reduction assets, including smart meters, battery energy storage systems and EV charge points.
Gemma has over 10 years of experience in legal practice which includes advising public and private companies on a wide range of M&A transactions including acquisitions, disposals, equity fundraisings, corporate reorganisations and all general matters of corporate governance.
