Jake is an Associate in the Bristol Real Estate Team, with expertise in leasehold enfranchisement and broader residential property work. Jacob has been qualified as a Solicitor since March 2022. Jake previously worked in a regional law firm in Salisbury and predominately acted for leaseholders and freeholders in all aspects of leasehold enfranchisement work. Jake also has experience with working on Right to Manage transactions for leaseholders, in which he assisted leaseholders in acquiring the right to exercise the management functions contained in their leases. 

Jake now primarily deals with leasehold enfranchisement and broader residential work for his various clients, including landed estate freeholders in London. Jacob uses his commercial awareness and knowledge of the relevant legislation and guides his clients through the complex legislation and various pitfalls and technical issues which can arise, espeically when dealing with leasehold enfranchisement. Outside of law, Jake enjoys going to the gym and more recently playing (or attempting to play) golf.

Relevant experience

  • The Wellcome Trust in various matters, including leasehold enfranchisement and general residential property matters.
  • The onboarding of managing agents to a landed estate freeholder.
  • Various restructuring of lease hierarchies in buildings inclusive of Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 considerations.
  • Reviewing and amending existing Assured Shorthold Tenancy templates to ensure compliance with the recent Renters Rights Act 2025.
